(Smiles all round as Phantoms Women celebrate first win against Solent)
The Phantoms Women claim two points on Saturday night with an impressive 7-2 win against Solent Amazons.
The first period started with intensity as the home side put on the pressure from the first face off. Phantoms Women controlled the play and were dominant in the attacking zone, testing Solent netminder Phoebe Shavelar.
Solent were first to get on the score sheet with a shot from Chantelle Air. This didn’t faze the Phantoms as moments later from the defensive zone Ellie Porter weaved through the Solent defence and fired the puck top shelf.
The second period Phantoms Women piled on the pressure and peppered the Solent Netminder with 32 shots. Player of the game Laura Broadley took the home side ahead with a rebound off Hana Meszarosova into an open net. The score was levelled from a second goal from Chantelle Air.

With the start of the third period, and the score even, Phantoms Women dug deep to finish the game in impressive style.
Emily Lock's shot from the blue line rebounded to Sue O'Sullivan, who passed the puck across the goal to Aimee Neaverson and scored with a wrist shot blocker side.
Minutes later Hana Meszarosova picked up the puck from the boards and drove to the net, sneaking the puck at the near post.
Immediately after, Phantoms won the centre face off where Ellie Porter's shot was initially saved, however Saara Karvonen snapped onto the end of the rebound.
Ellie Porter scored a near identical goal as her first, weaving through the Solent defence and lasered the puck blocker side.
Phantoms Women capitalised on the power play with Stacie Horn’s shot from the blue line deflecting off the helmet of Aimee Neaverson, delivering the final blow.
