In a riveting encounter at the Oxford City Ice Rink, the Peterborough Phantoms demonstrated their hockey prowess against the Oxford Midnight Stars. With determination and skill, they sought to continue their impressive form in the league.

 

First Period:

The Phantoms set the tone early when Kodie Duguid (#5 Sponsored by Ask2Build), with an assist from Hana Meszarosova (#15 Sponsored by Box7), found the back of the net just 13 seconds into the game. The period proceeded with high energy and tactical play until the Phantoms' Georgia Whittemore (#33 Sponsored by Box7) was sidelined for tripping at 15:55, putting her team on the defensive. Undeterred, Duguid (#5) doubled the lead with an unassisted goal at 18:16, showcasing her offensive drive.

 

Second Period:

Stacie Horn (#13 Sponsored by Buds Fitness & Hercules) opened the second period with a surge, delivering an unassisted goal at 20:44, further extending the Phantoms' lead. Laura Brooks (#19 Sponsored by Simone@Box7) added to the tally with a goal at 33:03, assisted by a quality pass from Whittemore (#33), who made up for her earlier penalty. The period continued with intense play, including a successful penalty kill following a tripping penalty against Stacie Horn (#13) at 38:32.

 

Third Period:

The Phantoms maintained control of the game, and Emily Lock (#2) sealed their dominant performance with a final unassisted goal at 57:54. The match concluded with a commendable shutout by Katie Plumb (#98 Sponsored by Ask2Build), ensuring the Phantoms left Oxford with a clean sheet.

Joanne Carter-Davis (#77) earned the Player of the Game for her versatility and work ethic, stepping up to the forward position due to a teammate's injury and contributing significantly to the team's dynamics.
