(Player of the match #19 Laura Brooks)
Introduction:
An electrifying atmosphere set the stage at Peterborough Planet Ice as the Phantoms clashed with Chelmsford. Right from the puck drop, the Phantoms unleashed a dynamic offense that left the spectators on the edge of their seats.
First Period:
The Phantoms' Hana Meszarosova (#15 sponsored by Box7) wasted no time asserting dominance, netting a stunning goal a mere 10 seconds into the game with an assist from Ruby Allen (#9 sponsored by Simone@Box7) who made a brilliant stick-to-stick pass from the corner. Meszarosova’s swift one-timer left the opposing goaltender no chance, earning the Phantoms an early lead. Doubling down at 13:16, Meszarosova (#15) seized a line change to break away and land a solo shot, marking her power on the game. The Chelmsford offence was shut down multiple times by the unrelenting effort by Brooks (#19) who continuously battled for every puck and never failed to backcheck. Furthermore Duguid (#5 sponsored by Ask2Build) created multiple opportunities by clearing the puck out of the Peterborough zone with ease, allowing the puck to be carried up and fired towards the Chelmsford net.

(#15 Hana Meszarosova scoring her second goal)
Second Period:
The game's intensity escalated with Allen (#9) receiving a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct at 25:57 after expressing frustrations following an offside call. Soon after, Georgia Whittemore (#33 sponsored by Box7) received two minutes for boarding at 28:02. The penalties continued, but this time for Chelmsford, as Adamson (#47) found themselves in the penalty box after crosschecking a Peterborough player, leaving Chelmsford shorthanded at 34:35. Caitlin Barraclough (#27) capitalised on the powerplay at 35:39, with Meszarosova (#15) serving the assist. Meszarosova (#15) carried the puck up the ice and wrapped around the back of the net, taking a shot. In a brilliant play, Barraclough (#27) snatched a rebound and found the back of the net. Meszarosova (#15) scored the team’s fourth goal, as she completed her hat trick, with an unassisted top-corner shot at 38:40, with the Chelmsford defense unable to catch up to Meszarosova's unmatched speed. Phantoms player, Hollie Barnes (#43) made her league debut, after stepping up from the phantoms development team. Barnes (#43) did not take long to prove that she had earned the opportunity through intense dedication: with only four seconds left in the second period, Barnes (#43) scored her first ever league goal. Meszarosova (#15) and Barnes (#43) had a breakout pass from the Peterborough zone and rushed down the ice together. With perfect positioning, Barnes (#43) was ready for an accurate pass from Meszarosova (#15) in front of the net with Barnes (#43) lifting the puck and scoring in the top right corner. Both the team and the fans erupted with excitement as they celebrated rookies first league goal in her league debut nonetheless.

Third Period:
The penalties continued with Brooks (#19) receiving two minutes for tripping at 40:52. Barraclough (#27) scored her second goal of the night after a scramble in front the net at 43:54. Barraclough (#27) capitalised on the opportunity, refused to give up and took a wrist shot, placing the puck in the bottom right corner of the net where the Chelmsford netminder left an opening, leading to another goal for the Phantoms, and the assist being awarded to Whittemore (#33). Aimee Neaverson (#66 sponsored by BudsFitness and Box7) encountered back-to-back penalties for hooking and then interference. This was soon followed by Whittemore (#33) who received two minutes for tripping at 57:19; but these penalties didn’t slow the Phantoms' momentum. Lock (#2) showcased both defensive and offensive ability, managing to break through the barracade of Chelmsford players and took a shot on net, which only just possessed too much power and narrowly missed the crossbar. With less than a minute to go, Allen (#9) won a puck battle with Chelmsford, cleared past their defence and beat the goalie in a 1 v 1 delivering a decisive five-hole goal. This result left netminder Plumb (#98 sponsored by Ask2Build) with a clean sheet, her agility and skill evident within the crease.
