Phantoms impress with a phenomenal 6-0 shut out against Chelmsford.

It did not take long for the Phantoms to take the lead, 8 seconds to be precise. After the Phantoms won the face off, Saara Karvonen was through on goal and got a quick shot off on the Chelmsford netminder. The shot was saved but Hana Meszarosova seized the rebound and cleverly put the puck into the back of the net.

The Phantoms continued to press Chelmsford with some quick changes to keep the lines fresh. Their efforts payed off when after 3 minutes 25 seconds, Saara Karvonen and Hana Meszarosova combined again. Karvonen went behind the Chelmsford net with Meszarosova poised in front eagerly awaiting her pass! Once she received the puck, Meszarosova chipped it over the Chelmsford netminder.

With both goals so far coming from the forwards, it was the turn of the Phantoms defence to show their skill. After gaining possession, Emily Lock saw an opportunity to score and boy did she score a good one! With little time on the puck, she perfectly guided the puck past several Chelmsford players but most importantly, past the Chelmsford netminder.

Phantoms led 3-0 at the end of the first.

The Phantoms started the second nearly as quickly as the first. After showing some impressive defensive play, Stacie Horn passed the puck up the ice for Emily Lock to chase. Locks speed and skill meant she flew past the Chelmsford players and fired her shot past the Chelmsford netminder, bagging herself her second goal of the game.

After some impressive defending from the Phantoms, Hana Meszarosova picked up the puck, drove forward and passed to Saara Karvonen. Karvonen flew through the Chelmsford defence and launched the puck into the back of the net!

Late on in the second period, Kodie Duguid took the puck around the Chelmsford net and passed to Hana Meszarosova who was not going to miss the opportunity to complete her hatrick!

The score was at 6-0 at the end of the second period.

In the third period, the Phantoms had an impressive 21 shots on the Chelmsford netminder. Unfortunately, they could not add another to the score sheet. This did not take away from the impressive performance everyone in the team showed.

The score ended 6-0 to the Phantoms, this being the second shut out of the season! A phenomenal team performance to get back to winning ways.
