(Player of the match Sue O'Sullivan)
The Phantoms were looking to re-start their winning ways after a tough game against Streatham. They hosted Cardiff and knew it would be an exciting game!
With Cardiff having a bigger home ice pad than the Phantoms, they have some strong skaters in their ranks. In the first period, both teams gave it their all. The deadlock could not be broken and it was 0-0 at the end of the first period.
With all still to play for, it was a physical game from both sides. It was Cardiff who broke the deadlock and took the lead. With the momentum of that goal, Cardiff added a second before the end of the second.
The third period was a big one for both sides! The next goal could decide which way the result went. The Phantoms had some good chances but unfortunately could not find the back of the net. Cardiff scored a third goal making the final score 0-3.
Although a disappointing result for the Phantoms, the effort they put in and the team spirit they showed was phenomenal.
Player of the match was Sue O’Sullivan.
The Phantoms next fixture is on the 12th February at home to Chelmsford.
