The Phantoms travelled to Coventry off the back of an impressive win the previous week against Chelmsford.
It was a quick start to the game with the Phantoms getting some early shots on the Coventry netminder. Defender Kodie Duguid picked up the puck in the defensive zone, she played a tight pass up the boards to Saara Karvonen. Karvonen who has been on fine form recently expertly placed the puck pass the netminder.

Whilst on the power play, Coventry managed to level the score. This did not last long, with the defence again playing the perfect pass to the forwards! Emily Lock who was positioned on the edge of the Coventry zone has passed to Hana Meszarosova whose first time shot has found the back of the net.

After battling hard and winning the puck, Sarah Rees has tipped the puck over the Coventry defenders stick and has found Aimee Neaverson who was not going to miss the opportunity to get her first goal of the game.

Coventry managed to get another goal back meaning the score after the 1st period was 2-3 in favour of the Phantoms.
With it being such a close game so far, it was going to take a solid team performance to take home the points. The phantoms upped their game and managed an impressive 15 shots on the netminder in the period.
Phantoms netminder Katie Plumb did not make it easy for Coventry. Not only did she make some impressive and critical saves, her expert positioning gave Coventry no chance.

Sarah Rees has won the puck from one of the Coventry players and has pick out a beautiful pass to Aimee Neaverson who fired the puck into the back of the net. All thought it was the only goal of the period, it was a great team goal to score.
The score was 2-4 at the end of the second period.
With the third and final period beginning, all was still to play for. Phantoms number 9 Ruby Allen sped past the Coventry players and took a shot at the netminder, although that was saved, Laura Broadley was right there to pick up the rebound! Her perfect positioning meant that she had a tap in and she was never going to miss.

Coventry got another goal back but this seemed to spur the Phantoms on more. Saara Karvonen combined with Hana Meszarosova to score the final goal of the game.
The final score was 3-6 to the Phantoms who picked up an important 2 points on the road.
Player of the match was netminder Katie Plumb.
The Phantoms next fixture is away to Cardiff on the 5th March 2023.
