Introduction:
The much-awaited second Cambridgeshire Derby delivered an exciting game, as the Peterborough Phantoms squared off against the Cambridge Kodiaks. With Netminder Sarah Kew-Moss on loan from Nottingham Vipers stepping in for the Phantoms, the stage was set for a competitive showdown, and the rink buzzed with a fantastic turnout, celebrating the support for women in sports.
First Period
The Kodiaks initiated scoring when #28 netted an unassisted goal at 9:30. The Phantoms, despite a strong offensive push, couldn't capitalise on their chances. The period concluded with Phantoms' Meszarosova (#15 Sponsored by Box7) receiving a penalty for interference at 13:37.

Second Period:
The Kodiaks seized a power play opportunity with #3 scoring at 31:21, assisted by #66 and #6. Seconds later, #24 extended their lead with an even-strength goal at 31:34, assisted by #76. The Phantoms answered with tenacity but faced penalties including roughing calls against Brooks (#19) at 25:37 and Duguid (#5 sponsored by Ask2Build) for tripping at 30:39. The Kodiaks also found themselves shorthanded with roughing penalties on player #81 at 24:02 and #25 at 25:37, followed by another roughing call against #3 at 27:39.

Third Period:
Meszarosova (#15 sponsored by Box7) rallied for the Phantoms with a goal at 45:04, assisted by Allen (#9 sponsored by SimoneBox7). The Kodiaks struck back when #66 scored at 48:03, with assists by #12 and #2. A sequence of penalties ensued with Allen (#9 sponsored by SimoneBox7) for roughing at 49:52 and a confusing call for Rees (#40) for roughing at 58:18 for the Phantoms, while Kodiaks' #3 served more time for cross-checking at 45:23 and #66 for hooking at 42:43. The Phantoms contuned to press but were unable to convert their 44 shots on goal, despite strong efforts and physical play.

Conclusion
Despite a strong effort from the Phantoms, the derby ended with a 4-1 victory for Cambridge. Sarah Kew-Moss earned the player of the game for her outstanding performance in net for the Phantoms, presented by loyal supporters, Lexie and Louis.
