The Phantoms had an eventful start to the day with one player dropping her phone as we were about to set off and it smashing. Whilst on route, we then had one of the cars break down and several other cars diverted to rescue the stranded players to make sure we all got to the game safely!

With the previous game being an exciting 4-2 victory for the Phantoms, the team knew if would be a tougher game on away ice.
The game started with Phantoms getting some early attacks in on the Cardiff goal. It did not take long for Kodie Duguid to open the scoring for the Phantoms with an impressive solo effort, shooting from just inside the zone she managed to beat the Cardiff netminder.

This early goal seemed to spur on Cardiff and they quickly levelled the scoring with Elizabeth Shackley getting the goal.
The rest of the first period was pretty even between the two sides. Both teams trying to get into a good rhythm. The first period ended and the score remained 1-1.

At the start of the second the Phantoms continued to challenge the Cardiff netminder but could not seem to break through. It was a similar story for Cardiff who could not break through the Phantoms defensive line. The second period ended with no goals adding to the tally for either team.

The final period began and the Phantoms upped their game once again. The Phantoms had a formidable 14 shots on the Cardiff goal and came very close to getting the win several times but unfortunately were kept out by the Cardiff netminder. Both teams ended up with 35 shots on goal.
The game ended as a 1-1 draw. A good point on the road for the Phantoms which greatly helps the Phantoms in their push for a play off spot.

The Phantoms next fixture is on the 2nd April at home to Coventry.
