The Phantoms have been on a strong run lately, can they continue it?

The Phantoms hosted Oxford Midnight Star looking to a big performance to gain the points!

Straight from the face off, the Phantoms started strongly, forcing mistakes from Oxford. Whilst on the power play, the Phantoms got the opening goal of the game when Sara Dawson’s pass found Ruby Allen who was on fine form and slotted the puck home!

Soon after Hana Meszarosova got her first of the game in an unassisted effort highlighting her superb skating skills. It did not take long for the Phantoms to find the net again when Kodie Duguid passed to Elouise Porter who was not going to miss the opportunity to get on the score sheet.

The Phantoms continued to press Oxford and keep them from scoring. Laura Broadley added a goal when her excellent positioning enabled her to get the puck in space and fire it into the net.

The final goal of the first period came when Saara Karvonen linked up with Hana Meszarosova who added her second goal of the game. The first period ended at 5-0 to the Phantoms.

Oxford stepped up their game in the second period, making it tougher for the Phantoms. They had an impressive 16 shots on the net but this did not phase the Phantoms.

Elouise Porter added 2 unassisted goals to her goal count and completed her hatrick! The second period ended 7-0.

The third and final period saw the Phantoms have 26 shots on the netminder. Credit to Jodie Alderson who had a fantastic game. Despite this, whilst on the power play Sara Dawson got another assist when she this time played in Elouise Porter who was not going to miss the chance to get a 4th goal.

Shortly after this, Liga Borealis passed the puck to Hana Meszarosova who got her third goal of the game and her first hatrick! A fitting way to end the game.

The final score was 9-0 to the Phantoms.
